VH8VL69 means VH series, Holden, SL/X trim and Sedan body. 267 is the Option pack number which only includes 3.3 litre inline 6, trimatic auto transmission and 3.08:1 diff ratio.
Paint is Mercury Silver metallic Dulux.
Trim is 1990 colour combination, 77X is Two tone Cabernet cord cloth/vinyl. I always say its Claret but not sure how correct that is.

As for a red 253, each state has different laws. Some say you have to put blue 253 emissions on it. Some say you can't use a red 253 in a VH.

Depends on what is on the compliance plate. If it has 27A then a red VB 4.2L or even HX-HZ is fine.

If it has 27B or 27C then you’ll probably have to run a blue top end, you can still use the red bottom end, especially if it is VB 253, the bottom end is near identical bar the colour, even down to the VR engine number. The only difference is the blue 253 has a slightly smaller piston crown than the VB engine.

The other trick would be to use the VB long motor and fit a KC intake, which is a blue manifold copy but fits red as well, then just fit a blue 253 carby, dizzy and pollution pipes. The same applies to earlier red 253 but you may run into strife with an earlier engine number prefix like 253H/L, Q or HR/S and the choke won’t work as designed.
