Hi All
Am ready to get the steering set but have no idea what castor and camber settings I should specify to the suspension shop. Any suggestions for a normal driving HT Monaro?

For standard springs and ride height, the book figures are as good as anything to start with:
Camber: 1/2 deg positive, +/-1/2 degree
Caster: 1 to 2 degrees negative.
Toe in: 0-1/8"
Also check toe out on turns both ways at 20 degrees outer wheel should give 22 degrees +/-1/2 degrees on the inner wheel.
Personally I prefer a bit more negative camber than that, but you often run out of bolt length and space for shims on the upper pivot shaft at about 1 degree negative.
If you take note of what its set to caster and camber can be changed later just by using known shim thicknesses without measuring.

Remember also that the factory specs are to suit crossply tyres. Radial tyres like a bit more caster & camber.

When we aligned these, we set them at 0 to 1/4 negative camber & 0 to +1/2 positive caster. With power/steer you can even add more caster.

As Geoff has mentioned, this assumes you don't run out of thread. In extreme cases we used longer bolts & sometimes had to panel-beat the inner guard panel.
