Great find, and I too wonder how it escaped, and would love to know the history. No key kills the sale for me, what use is a 'glass styling model with no key?LOL Thanks for sharing!

There was a VH SL/E wooden buck up for sale a few years ago, thought how would this escape Holden design studio's....

Ah a blast from the past.
Whilst an apprentice in the late 70's a silver fibreglass HQ statesman like this was in the foyer of one of the Toowoomba TAFE trade training buildings. It looked complete except for wheel trims and had no interior and obviously no running gear. They had a few factory donated training engines etc so this must have been gifted as a training aid also. Being on a timber frame without steering meant it could be moved about and hardly registered on my radar as it couldn't be tampered with.
Just another cruel tease like the the real hatchback at the Holden training centre with the large salsbury diff and no engine trans that was just an ornament on Jack stands that was hands off. Interesting it has survived almost 50 years, but then again it's fibreglass was fairly thick and also doesn't rust. Ian
