HR '186S', 186P block - cast or steel?

Hi All, Something I cannot figure out. The HR model '186S' apparently had the block number as '186Kxxxxx' and the HK/T/G model '186S' had the block number as '186Sxxxxx'. Did the HR '186S' (blocks 186K) have a cast or steel crank? As I understand, the HK/T/G '186S' engines had the steel crank. Thanks, Geoff Edited by user Saturday, March 19, 2011 11:33:39 PM(UTC)

HR X2 and 186S have number 186K*****. 186P***** is HK to HG standard 186. 186S***** is HK to HG 186S.
X2 and 186S have steel crank.

As Warren says. Plus all engines prior to April 1967 had forged steel crankshafts. |
