I'm right in the middle of joining up some SS mandrel bends for a 2 1/4 single system on the Brougham. Where the hell am I going to put the muffler?

As a test, I did a temp fitting of the muffler just after the engine pipe under the front seat where the floorpan is at a high point. It fits pretty neatly there but it sounds like crap. It's hard to discribe the sound but imagine the chaotic rattles pops and farts with no exhaust at all and just quieten it down and that's close.

There doesn't seem to be room any further back until it gets past the diff near the original location. There it sounds incredible but is so loud it would attract all the wrong people with their warrant books.

Has anyone had experience with this?

Cheers

Pete

Pete,
I'll get some photos tomorrow for you of the two exhausts on mine.
Also, there is an exhaust how to in Mays Street Machine magazine that is done on a Brougham

Taken a while, sorry Pete. Hope this is still of use.

This has a rich deep sound on idle, a nice burble, and a good throaty sound on accelleration. There is a constant drone crusing which is pleasant around town, but gets to you after an hour or so down the coast.

Luckily I have an AMP and ACDC.

Sorry about the mess on the floor!!
You havent got the mufflers back to front by any chance? And I do know of some systems using a second muffler/hotdog on the tail section under the boot too.
