Does anybody have an original bonnet cable fitted to their HQ which they could take a photo of?

The symbol on the pull knob is of the most interest.

Thanks.

Wasn't the HQ series the last one with the word HOOD on the knob.

There seems to be two main types in the market fitted to HQ's to my understanding.

As you say, one with the HOOD text and one with a car symbol. I was hoping to find out which was the original cable fitted from factory. The GM part number listed in the parts book is 2814367. I'm not sure whether there was supercession later on from one to the other...

It would be greatly appreciated if anyone can help out with some pictures of their HQ bonnet cable's pull knob if genuine or provide more information that could help shed some further light on the matter.

The first full-sized Holden to use so-called international symbols instead of words for dash controls & instruments was the HJ. The first of any size Holden, would have been the LH Torana

AFIAK the HJ/LH/TA would have had the symbol & HQ/LJ would have the word HOOD.

There may be an anomaly in late HQ, where some LH knobs were 'phased' into production, but I haven't noticed that being the case.

Thanks for the input guys. I've also checked a HQ Monaro which is in relatively original condition which had the HOOD text version so it appears as though this was the more widely fitted but perhaps as Terry mentioned some bonnet symbol types were phased in towards the end of the production cycle.
