My EH has never had a radio fitted,I have the chance to buy an original radio but never having fitted a radio I am very nervous about doing it myself or letting anybody else loose on my car, drilling holes in mudguard etc.
Can anyone out there who has fitted a radio advise me how to go about it,the problems etc. Also any parts other than the radio and speaker that I should have to allow for installation. Will any type of antenna do or can you buy the original type.
Thanks guys any help/advise is much appreciated.

you can buy aerials now that sit on the dash and have A booster in them and they work well.
Best part no holes required.
good luck

Tony,

Good to be cautious about letting 'anybody' loose on it. Many so-called installers make an absolute meal of your wiring (dodgey splicing techniques which promote wire corrosion etc etc). Depending on the radio and speakers you are choosing (es

Make sure the speaker is the right resisatance (ohms) or you will damage the radio. i think they are 8 ohms but check that. You can't easily get 8 ohm (or whatever it is) speakers now because they don't make them anymore. Maybe 2 4 ohm speakers in series
