Hi all,

Does anyone know if you could get full headlining (ie all the way from the top of the front screen to the top of the back door) from the factory in a HQ-WB panelvan?

Also re VS Commodore computers, am I safe to assume that they are the same 5.0L vs 3.8L? They both have the same service number on them?

One last one, Is it ok to run a VK-VN external electric fuel pump backwards for a very short period? Ie reverse the polarity of the pump? I assume that all there is inside it is an impellor so nothing to damage, I'm asking re priming the pump, if I can run it in reverse for a second or 2 it should be pretty easy to prime...

Cheers Dre

HJ to HZ had full length hoodlinings available. They were standard in Sandman vans. Not in HQ vans though, but plenty were retrofitted.

As far as I know, VS V6 and V8 EFI computers are the same, but use a different memcal depending upon the engine.

Hi guys.

VS V6 & V8 computers (ECUs) are not the same. I will explain it this way.

When the VR was released, Holden used the same ECUs for the V6 & V8 Auto (the large case type with the service no. 16176424) These controlled both engin

I would not run the petrol pump reverse polarity even for a second. They are solid state,ie have diodes and transistors, and reverse polarity would probably damage them.

Thanks for the info. I have one VR 3.8L auto computer and one VS 5L auto computer and they have the same service number on them. Can I assume they are the same? They look internally identical...

Hi Dre.

The VR V6 Auto & VS V8 Auto ECUs are the same but the memcals are different. The memcal is the small blue plug-in module that is inside the ECU, behind the inspection plate (remove 2 screws)

The V8 memcal will not work in the V6 ca

Go with Dr.Terrys view Dre.....
We use a VL fuel pump as a stand alone pump for transferring (milking) fuel from wrecks into our own little private petrol station :-) (my contribution to making life easier in the yard).
Never primed it, but also don't a

Hi, I should be more specific. Memcal aside, the actual computer is the same for auto VR/VS V8 and V6 correct?

I should be able to run a V6 computer with a V8 memcal installed in a V8 vehicle, correct?

Hi Dre.

The odd one out is the VS V6 computer it will not work or fit a VS V8 or VR V6 & V8.

What are the numbers of the computers you wish to use & in what car.

Hey guys....
Can we start a new post on this, up at the top of the list?
Doesn't relate to anything I'm doing at the moment, but interesting all the same and sure to come in handy a little further down the track.
