Anyone know what the correct door trims are for a 74 HQ sandman? the sandmanowners site show GTS but also shows the earlier HQ console the photo is supposed to be from the orig brochure so I am not sure if its correct. Mine is a genuine Sandman but has standard Belmont trims in it and late HQ console. Anyone shed a bit of light?

you have the correct trim , HQ sandmans were belmont based as was the SS ,so black belmont door trims are right , being a 74 the late console with centre opening would be correct. I used to have a HZ sandman ute which had black kingswood door trims. hope

Thanks cloudy I guessed the belmont would be correct. Got me tossed why the Sandman club site is showing GTS with early console, it says that it is taken from a sales brochure, must have got mixed up with Monaro. Check it out at www.sandmanowners.com and

The centre console has nothing to do with the year, it hass to do with the type of seat belts.

A 73 GTS has a 71 console but a 73 LS has inertial reels standard and has the updated console. If you have the late console you should have inertia belts.

Were Intertia Reel seatbelts an option for a 73 GTS coupe?

If so, where do they mount, and would this mean that is has the later console?

Thanks,

Victa.

Chris, that is taken from the HQ sandman brochure, I know this as I was the one who scanned it in. This wouldnt be the first time a brochure shows something od. The HZ sandman brochure shows a silver HX gts dash facia, yet all the HZ's had black GTS facia

Standard on Monaro and Monaro LS optional on GTS. They mount exactly the same as HJ and HX coupes.
