I have a WB with a TPI 350 chev for some time now i have been experiencing a lean fuel supply with backfiring under load and hunting at idle the fuel lines seem to bee way too long could this be a problem or could it be sensors????

Could be the IAC. I've seen a few of these engines converted to a Holden wiring loom and Delco 808 computer. Very clever. All they did is modded a 308 dizzy to fit, made up an adapter plug for the IAC & TPS and fitted Holden sensors (water, oil, MAP e

yeh although at times the car has been running fine it seems to be intermittent this problem some times she runs great others a comlete head case it is driving me mad my mech reckons alot of money has been spent and this easy way out does not fit with th

Backfiring under load sounds like overfuelling, lack of air or problems with spark. Hunting at idle could be the IAC valve or spark related. Red wine has killed the relevant brain cells, so I have to ask - does the Chev TPI setup control spark like the Ho

Appreciate the replies. The computer has been taken out of a VN 308 commodore. The ignition is chev i believe it does not seem to be over fuelling due to the hunting and the idle normalises when fuel is squirted through the air filter. c
