Hi
I own a V8 VS ute ser111, with a automatic transmission. The auto sometimes sticks in gears and fails to change. During hard acceleration at 100km/h it kickbacks to second until it reaches 5500rpm and stays there for about 10 seconds and eventually changes into third. Has anyone experienced these problems and if so how was it fixed.

During full throttle the ecu uses the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) to work out when to change gears, so maybe your VSS is faulty and the car thinks it is going slower than it actually is so it doesn't change gears. This is also what happens when you change

The local GM dealer spare parts department tells me that they get a lot of enquiries for VSS's.
Seems they are prone to failure...so might well be your problem as Steve has suggested.
