they are different, hard to explain, the centre section has a large square hole punched through and a bracket welded in almost level with the bottom so the mount sits low, does not have the extra plates like a t400 has, i have one here but i'm not computer skilled enough to post a pic

By the list in previous posts, there is a difference between the commercial & sedan/wagon crossmembers. How are they different?
I have a HJ ute that I'm currently fitting a Saginaw transmission in & I think I have a Trimatic/4 speed crossmember, I'm seeking a pic of the HQ Muncie crossmember.

Commercial are narrower as the rails are a box rather than a C-section. Just look at the chassis side by side and you'll see the difference. The Commercial chassis is a passenger chassis welded to a rear section that makes it a box.

You want a TH350 crossmember for a Saginaw. Here is a home-made one:

I'd just buy one of these though, far more clearance for exhaust:

https://www.ebay.com.au/...0d7d:g:n~kAAOSwJpZbciqu
https://www.ebay.com.au/...mpjQILK5Yq0NqCsx1hfZU7g

Talk to the seller first to make sure it works with Saginaw. I can tell you though that in a HK the Saginaw and V8 Powerglide gearbox crossmember are the same other than the shifter bracket. You might just have to play with the rear mount, ie try a Trimatic/Aussie one first and if it is too high switch to a TH400 one.

Thanks.I haven't got a sedan chassis to compare with, but it makes sense.
After doing some measurements & some research, I thought that the T350 would be close, so I'll modify the one that I have similar to the ebay item & brace it like the T400 to stop any twist.

If I was you I’d find an original or buy one of those fabricated ones as they come with Engineering paperwork. With today’s blame culture you are best using stuff that is original or Certified. At least with a modified passenger one all you are doing is shortening it rather than having weld mods.
