That possibly answers what L trim is, ie cloth seats and vinyl doortrims. This aligns with what git states about 14L from HG parts catalogue amendment. K is possibly the opposite?

I think Dave is correct Terry. I've only ever seen them in HT.

Dr Terry

Greetings Dr Terry, Nice to see someone else with a soft spot for the ultimate Holden car of the day. The Brougham came standard with many features optional on other models such as biggest engine, automatic transmission, power disc brakes, power steering, cloth seats and so forth. The seats were cloth faced with map pockets in the rear of the fronts. In all other models where available, XS9 was the cloth seat trim option code but this was an included standard feature in Brougham.

During HT, the option of all vinyl seat trim was made available on Brougham. There were different trim codes for these cars but that alone would not reflect the interior trim as the cloth on the door trims needed to be removed (vinyl trim Broughams have different all vinyl door trims to cloth trim Broughams with cloth and vinyl door trims). Enter XT8 as the code to remove all traces of cloth trim inside a Brougham. The official name of XT8 is VINYL TRIM. XS9 is CLOTH TRIM but there is no way to delete XS9 as it is itself an option code. XT8 would be unique to the Brougham.

Is there any other Holden that had an option code exclusive to it that wasn't used on any other car in the range like XT8 in Brougham?

Greetings, I have the HG Features Book as well as an HG Selling Manual. They are two different books. HG is my pet but the other Broughams are up there too. I have also learned that Brougham buyers got extra special treatment at the dealer as they were buying the top car.

I haven't heard of an HT Features Book but if one were to come up for sale anywhere I would like one for the collection. If only all the Brougham models had a special owner book like the HK.

I believe that XT8 leather trim was exclusive to SL/E Commodore in the VC/VH days.

There will be heaps of them, a few examples:
DL7 - delete stripes on HZ Sandman, which you could actually order. You couldn't actually "option" XT8 as such though? It was a code generated by applying a trim code.
A09 - fixed side windows on HQ and HJ vans.
C32 - delete lower and upper tailgates on HQ and HJ vans.
XY5 - Sandman white decals on HJ Sandman.
XY7 - appearance package on 1-tonner.

D43 isn't in HG commercial or passenger order procedures. In HG commercial order procedure DG1 is there. DG1 is passenger side door mirror, this was mandatory for all commercial vehicles registered in QLD, VIC, TAS and WA except where D44 (fender mounted mirror) is specified. However D44 isn't listed as an option either.

HQ commercial order procedure has D43 as internal rear vision mirror - standard in utes and vans but optional on cab/chassis. Interestingly D44 is standard on vans and cab/chassis but optional one utilities except as in HG where mandatory on QLD, VIC, TAS and WA vehicles.

In the HG ordering specifications it states that the internal rear vision mirror was optional on panel vans and not a standard item.

Greetings, Don't know about this sale at Warwick. I have bought most of my material from the internet. There used to be a guy in Melbourne many years ago who had a lot of Holden material of high quality. He worked for Holden but his name escapes me at the moment though.

Greetings, The "Other Options" section has D43 listed as a van didn't have an internal mirror as standard. This was the only vehicle to which this option was relevant.

Maybe true for HK-HG, but D43 was also relevant to HQ (and possibly all HJ onwards) cab chassis (it was standard on HQ utes and vans). I have an 8/70 HG commercial order procedure and it has no D43 on the order form or procedure. Maybe it was made standard on vans by 8/70? There are blank spots on the sample order form where you can see where things have been (or are meant to go at a future date).

My 77 HZ Ambulance pack had no interior rear view mirror when I purchased it new. I fitted one myself.

I believe that they finally became standard sometime mid-HZ.
