38G trim was a regularly available option in that era of HQ. It was Doeskin, Chestnut, with Gold Raydo inserts.

Having said that, GM-H did produce a short run or what they called a Sports pack for the Kingwood in 1973, also with Raydo inserts. These were unique trim numbers however in the 81 to 89 number range

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Kingswood sedan, bench seat? Possibly called a Kingswood Sports. Is it 253 column auto?

Oops, Dr Terry beat me to it! I forgot about the unique trim codes on the package.

Dealers offered "specials" all the time, sometimes with just normal options, but they are hard to track as there is nothing unique. Unlike say the LJ Daytona Torana from a Sydney dealer, as they were painted Daytona Bronze which is not an LJ colour.

thanks guys a lot of good feedback there, just got back from the shannons auction in melb, 327 warrick yellow $302,000- talking to the happy owners who just sold it, as well as talking to the owners of the 186-s hk Monaro which sold for 10, 000 over what they were hoping for.. stayed back after the auction and had a few beers and nibblies, with all the sellers and some of the buyers, some very nice people there, cheers..
