Rumour is that the auction process may have not been all that it seemed.
Chatting within the industry today and Lloyds auctions are very keen to displace Shannons and wanted a good result to prove themselves.
Could have been OK but who knows ?

A test of the market will be the next Shannons auction in Melb. that has a HK GTS 327 Silver Mink coming from Adelaide for sale.
Price ranged at around 300K.
Suppose to be a nice car - any body know the car ??

Are you sure its silver?
I just heard about a gold HK327 found in Adelaide recently. Around 70,000K's on the clock and imaculate throughout with the original purchase paperwork.
Original owner passed away and the wife wanted to know what it was worth. A family friend suggested maybe $100K and she nearly fell over apparently.
They contacted shannons and they mentioned $200K. It'll be going to auction soon.

Hey Riggy Piggy- Yeh thats the car, same story I heard.
Oh, see its just popped up on Shannons site. Must be the light but it looks like its halfway between Silvermink and Inca Gold.
Got some big wheels on the rear.
Will be interesting to see the price guide though - Whether its the 300K I heard or 200K you heard.
Probably like the colour it will be somewhere in the middle.

Hi.

Shannons Car is Silver Mink.

Will be interesting to see how it goes. Yet another type two car with HT Black heater box like mine. I wish I could get to the bottom of that. I have a light grey and a dark heater box because of different opinions from different highly knowledgeable people.

Also have spare subframes,Brake boosters and other bits because of this.

Cheers

I wonder what Shannons do when they detail these cars.
I reckon they would be better off leaving the 'as found' look on the car rather than giving its old paint job a high gloss polish.
I'd much rather have it faded and as found.
Do you reckon the original owner would have bothered buying rarespares hubcaps for it or is that the Shannons detailers work?

Wayne.

I am not sure they do anything much. I think they present them as delivered and use contractors if the owner desires it>

Could be wrong on that.

Nick.

By the way.

I do like the fat rims and tyres with hubcaps. But I don't think that will help the car when the bidding starts. Cheers.

Nick,
I thought the same thing.
It would have been more appropriate if they had fitted 6" wheels with Firestone cross ply tyres.
Strange they fitted those wide wheels and chunky tyres.

Still looks like it has a proper Dunlop spare though.
