Wanting to upgrade my spray gun I am a newbie to home spray painting purchased just a cheap SCA brand gun from Superheap but looking for something reasonable. I have been painting my HQ chassis with a satin KBS product and I also have a 49 Chev pick up I plan to paint two tone satin black and red acrylic with clear so want something a bit better I have been to my local Autolac Shop and they can sell me a pair of guns I think the brand is Stark or Star or similar for about $450 the cheaper of the two for primer etc valued around $150i think a 1.8 and another gun I think a 1.4 valued at around $350 even though at this stage its a one off job I am always inclined to buy tools that have a certain amount of quality that will last and obviously you get what you pay for but would be interested in people that have more knowledge on the subject what their thoughts are and any recommendations the guy I spoke with is a spray painter with 10 years experience and felt the guys he proposed were of very good quality and certainly would do the job I required.
