Can anyone tell me if the HJ-WB van upper tailgate fits any earlier vans? Specifically HK-HG

No they won't, they are much taller.
Having side that, I do know that HD/HR/HK/HT/HG van upper tailgates are all the same.

I think the glass is the same but as Dr Terry says they are taller. Extra steel between the glass and the bottom. |

Yes, the glass is the same from HD to WB.
Also, a heated rear screen was an option for panel van upper tailgates in the WB series, if you can find one.

The roof is essentially the same HK-HG to HQ-WB, they just added extra steel at the bottom which is why the upper tailgate has extra steel too. The turret was extended as well. When you compare HK-HG part numbers for some of the roof inner bits with WB they are still the same numbers. |
