Just another spammer that had a link to a non-government ripoff website in their signature. Spammers love choosing here because numerous posts from this forum appear high in google results when keywords are typed in - keywords that spammers predict you'll type in when you want that sort of "service"

In case this thread does make it high up in google rankings, I encourage anyone wanting the old "REVS" check to visit the Government website: https://www.ppsr.gov.au/

Note the .gov.au in the website address - this is the ONLY website you should use.

In the old days, it was called a REVS check: REVS = Register of Encumbered Vehicles (ie cars with finance on them).
Several years back, it changed to PPSR: Personal Property Securities Register.

There are numerous lowlife individuals out there preying on people who aren't aware of the government services, and they fleece them for their cash.

Simply typing PPSR into Google gives 4 out of the top 5 results as these private ripoff sites - the top ranking one being a paid ad! Way to go Google...not.

Sites like this (note that I have altered the domain name so bots & ad spiders don't find them and add to google rankings):
www. ppsr (dot)com (dot)au
www. quickppsr (dot)com (dot)au
www checkvin (dot)com (dot)au
www checkrego (dot)com (dot)au
www checkmyrego (dot)com (dot)au/ppsr-check

Note that all of these are privately run sites, where an individual or company profits from information readily available from the government run website - either free of charge, or for a much smaller fee.

As an example, those sites offer the "PPSR certificate" for anywhere from $6.90 to $36.95

It is available from the official government site for just $2.00

Yes, just 2 bucks.

See how they're ripping people blind?

Don't fall for their trap.

A search of the state-based Register of Encumbered Vehicles (REVs), or the Vehicle Security registers (VSR), was known as a REVs check. You can do a Quick motor vehicle search, if you have a VIN or chassis number, or Search by serial number if you only have the manufacturer's number.
I generally check through these sites;

EDITED BY MODERATOR - spam links removed.

DO NOT repost links to sites that charge exhorbitant fees for exactly what the official government site provides for a few dollars.

The very post above this already explained why to avoid these sites, and you go promoting them?

Last warning - next offence is a perma-ban.
