Hi Glenn
i dunno if this will really help you..but.. my HJ ute has HZ chassis numbers and i actually think is a HX chassis. All the Plates on the flywall identufy it as a HJ, and therefore its registered as a Hj.. soo i dunno if its such a big deal..

Put the Hj numbers on the Hx chassis as they are the same chassis. The Hz and Wb both have RTS so if you put an earlier number on these or vice-versa you can tell straight up it has been restamped.

If you are talking about the alloy compliance plates and you are in NSW I think you will find that after 5 years it is not compulsory to have them . Do not quote me on this , but look intoit .

If you email me the VIN code off your vt/vx I will decode it for you. My email is: commodorenut(AT)aol(DOT)com

Info in the VIN only covers the following:
model,
degree of luxury,
model year,
engine, and
assembly plant.

The VIN number

I fell it's probably Cosmo Mica, which is coded 970L, However in case you do mean Purple Haze, it's code is 896K.

Cheers,

Mick
