Hello all,
A mate of mine has an auto VL wagon. It won't do any more than splutter at the moment. He has removed the airflow sensor & it idles but dies when the accelerator is pressed. He tested the resistance of the airflow meter & it comes up fine. He has had the fuel pressure & flow measured by a mechanic & they are fine.

When the fuel return line is clamped (giving the injectors full pressure) the engine then runs fine.

The fuel filter is new as is the coil.

Has anyone got any other ideas what it could be?

regards, Jim...

Cruise google for VL ...or try this Nissan page. It is a Nissan m

Jim

The VL computer is located under the passengers side kick panel. Once the computer is exposed and with the engine running, carefully turn the 'idle speed' screw around to diagnostic mode. Counting the flashes of each LED gives the code, with red fo

Thanks for that. I am considering buying the thing & parting it out or fixing it because he has already replaced the car.

What would be a fair price to pay for a ratty but fairly straight VL wagon that has been driven almost into the ground, doesn't

Hi Jim,

Send me an E-mail through my profile and I'll send you some more detailed info on troubleshooting VL Commodores. Just be aware that the files add up to about 6 or 7 meg so they'll take a while to download unless you are on fast broadband...
