Bought this 74 coupe 4 months ago and have just started restoring it
has 351, 3 speed C4 and 9 inch diff running 4.0:1 gears. The bloke who i bought it off has fitted it out as an XC so i pissed the XC dash off
and fitted an XBGT dash, just trying to track down an XB front end now..
Has stuff all visable rust but i guess i will find out when she gets striped backed to bare metal at the end of the year for a Red Pepper paint job. Not sure what i'm going to do to the motor yet but i'd like to have between 350 and 400hp. I have replaced nearly every peice of suspension and also new tailshaft yokes ands uni's...all i have to do to get it registered is fit a set tailpipes new tyres and wire up the dash
which is happening next week...i will post more photos of the resto as it goes along....

If I'm going to HELL it will be in an XB COUPE!

Nice. Not a fan of the XC front though. I'd like a coupe one day but I think $'s will keep me out of one.

I may have this wrong but I can tell you it is a March 73 built engine from a Fairlane 500.

I think the K on the end means it is a 351 but I'm not sure.

If you have a look at the ID plates on the car (assuming it is the original engine from the car)

The only way to tell the diff is pull the sump off and the crank will have 3.00" for 302 and 3.5" for 351 stamped on it...you can also pull a spark plug out and put a piece of wir down and measure the stroke...3 inches is 302 and 3 and a half is 351...
