I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the 1986 laser ghia 1.6 is fuel injected or does it have a carby ?
i am looking at buying one and the guy that is selling it to me assures me it is fuel injected but how can i be sure .
its got 86,000 k's on it and in good nick
any feedback would be greatly appreciated

A Laser with a carby will have a carby sitting under the air cleaner. A fuel injected motor won't. If you take off the air cleaner and see a couple of butterflies sitting in a hole it's a carby.

Jo, If it was a falcon question you would have a thousand answers by now. All cars have an air filter of one type or another, even fuel injected cars though it will usually hide in a black plasti

dear paul
he is asking $3,300 for it and that includes 12months rego
new tyres and brakes (as they had to be done to pass a roadworthy)
and as it hasnt been registered since last september he will have to get the rta to also
go over it to get it re

Ok being a 1986 model it would be a KC otherwise known as the bubbleback laser due to its rear hatch shape.

Fuel injection was introduced on Lasers as an option with the KC but is most likely standard on a Ghia.

hi yes it does have the air filter on top of the motor and it does have the 1.6 on the front guards but i am not sure if it had a i beside it or not

Do you have a digi camera? If so take a photo of the engine and post a pic here. As Jim said, if you live close to a member here someone might be able to have a look at the car for you and tell you what it is. Should take about 5 secs to tell once the

too funny i was actually thinking i never knew there were cars
made called telstra
i havent heard from the guy as i told him i wasnt interested if it is not fuel injected and he said he would have had it ready by this weekend
