Hi all,

As the subject says, 253 owners are u still putting up with a Strommie ! ?? My Strommie days are now gone, and I have moved to the Quad - yes a 308 setup.

I have put up with a degrading WW for some time till I hit 15mpg (19.0 l /100kms) around town.

The old Quad plus bog standard 308 manifold ..off ebay is now doing 19mpg (14.8 l/100kms). YEP and in Sydney traffic !

The car is a bitch to start..arent they all, and runs half the temp on the temp guage. What used to be half..is now a quarter- super cool !

As fuel prices rise..it may be worth the modification. Oh yeah more grunt too ! Better pickup and cruise.

The Twin exhaust sounds heaps better as well after the Strommie was shelved.

Cheers John

I put a quadrajet off a big block Chev onto my 360 Chrysler a few years back in plce of the oem 380CFM Holley.

The result was that highway economy went from 14MPG to 25MPG. It also went a heap better too but once those secondary's were cracked open
