My air bags went off when I stacked my SS. I have got hold of a new air bags for the driver and passenger side. Can I just plug them in to the eqisting wiring or does the computers need resetting first. I don't want to pop the new ones fitting them. Will I need new modules or can they be reset?

I work at toyota and one of the jobs i did was fit airbags(almost 150 a day). We had to connect the airbag wire to a diagnostic cable to ensure there was no stray current going through the wire to prevent the airbag from going off in our hands. I would |

Collision Checks
There are different requirements dependant upon whether the Airbags have deployed.

Air bags always have yellow wire. If disrapted ie disconnected airbag light will come on. Only the Manufacture can reset the computer, as a chap mentioned cycle the ingittion for so many counts (cant remember how many times) for programing but wont solve

Most Workshops with a scan tool can reset airbag warning lights. We have the latest snapon modis which we use.
