Off topic but important. Slightly related to Holden as this issue is in the Monaro region of NSW. A desperate, apparantly cash strapped NSW Labor Goverment are trying to sell off the NSW Snowy Hydro scheme. They have been accused of selling it as they are 'broke' (not my words) and to help fund election promises to try to win next year's State election. It is hard to believe, but when you hear the Premier talking about funding 40kM/h school zone flashing lights by selling advertising space on the same poles that support the lights then you have to cynical about the whole reason for us having these 'leaders' there in the first place. Apparantly the scheme earns over a million dollars a day (again only from media reports). The following website has been set up to generate a petition to go to the NSW Government if any of you are interested and opposed to the sale. www.savesnowyhydro.com |

Another Government stuff up.....
While the terror threat is a hot topic, and the government is pushing more $$ towards security & armed forces, they are paying through the nose for contract maintenance & labour for all of our naval fleet.

Yes selling off "geese that lay golden eggs" is very short term thinking & the opposite of investment. When the proceeds of the sale run out the government will not have the profits from that business anymore & will have to make up for that shortfall. How |

I sympathise and agree with you guys and have two comments to make:
How do you tell when a Politician is telling lies? Their mouth moves when they speak. And, the trouble with political jokes is that they tend to get elected.....

4 Surgeons were discussing various types of people they operate on, and the pros & cons of each.
The first says "I love working on librarians, every thing is in it's place, all in order, all perfect"
The second says "I love accountants, every thing |

They claim this will lead to greater efficiency and less cost because private enterprise can run things more efficiently. Name me one ex govt business that is less costly after privatisation.
