i have to replace the indicator assembly on my VS Commodore which has a drivers air bag. trouble is i am scared to try to take the steering wheel off for fear of blowing my head off with the airbag should i touch something i shouldn't. What's the secret?

There's no need to be scared of the airbag if you take all the right precautions.

However, you actually don't need to remove the steering wheel to change the indicator stalk. You simply remove the shrouds, and the stalk clicks sideways into the housin

damn! Part of my Army career was spent in Explosive Ordnance Disposal, i don't think anything i did then was as complex as this. Many thanks for your most detailed and time consuming reply. It is much appreciated. Point is, i am not sure what i need t

The high beam flicker is well known, and luckily it's an easy fix.

It's a very common prob with VR/VS wands. Replace the blinker wand, and Bob's your uncle. You don't even need to reef the steering wheel off to do it.

The other prob is the blinker
