ok guys ive stuffed i pulled the dizzy out with properly checking is i was in tdc i lined up the balancer just put new one on as the other was out. and the rotor was pointing straight to the front i then droped in a new bosch elec dizzy with rotor in same spot but now she just does the odd back fire . when on tdc compression where should the rotor point and how should the dizzy body go in any special way as its different to old dizzy body. any help would be great as the manual just say's align rotor with notch which the new dizzy doesnt have, thanks chris

I always just put the dizzy cap on(With the dizzy out) and put your own mark on the dizzy inline with the caps number one outlet. Then when you take the cap off you will have a mark on the dizzy and line up the rotor button with your mark... Then in the b

Hi Shrek,
Usually a backfire can mean you are close ! But could also mean WAY out.
A dizzy can go back in at TDC or 180degs past TDC. Yes it can look like TDC but you are really on the wrong end of the stroke. This applies to any donk.

trubluhq, you have got things a bit mixed up there. When the piston is at TDC, thats where it is!! It can't be at the bottom of the stroke when it's at TDC The timing mark will come around twice on the balancer for 1 firing stroke. This is because mos

thanks guys ive fixed it i was 180 out id the the finger over the plug hole. then checked my rotor button so i just put the leads on to suit which is the way tyhey came of i was just to lazy to do the pre checks before and it caught me out
