Well guys I have taken the plunge. The HQ has been put on dedicated gas. The petrol tank will now reside in the shed.
Byron thanks for the lead I tracked down a local fitter in Sydney that did a great job. It will take some time to get a handle on the economy side of things, however driveability this afternoon was great.
I'll keep you posted over the next few months how it goes.

gday, what brand did you use. Impco or gas research. I am interested as I will be running straight gas myself. What size engine do you have. single or twin mixers set up and do you hae any photos of the setup. It will be good to heaar how it is going down

I have used an Impco 425 which has an adaptor straight to the original Quadrajet base plate. It came with a small 3" air cleaner which I will change for a 14" later. It is on a 253, however the 425 is plenty big enough for a 308. If you drop me a line I w

My new VR commy ute is dual fuel, its computerised,it starts and warms up on petrol,then switches itself over to gas automatically.The cost works out to be about half of that for petrol, because LPG is only about a third of the price of petrol, but LPG ec
