Hi guys,

I know it's not an early Holden, but I'm trying to decipher the codes on a VT Calais ID plate - to confirm its identity / colour etc.

I'm used to early ID tags - EH-235A etc like my other cars (earlies!), but am not too sure about this one.

Can anybody direct me to another site where these details may be listed? I've checked the LS1 and Just Commodores sites as well as a few others - no luck yet.
I may try ringing Holden, but don't know how much help they would be.

In case anyone has a book or guide, the details are:

MODEL: VT8VX69-324-3BB
BODY: L582457
TRIM: 171
VC: J2

I can guess the first VT part... ;-)

Any assistance appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike.

To answer your query, the 1st line is VT = VT series, 8 = Holden, VX = Calais & 69 = 4 door sedan. The 324 is a

Holden have good info on VT, I rang my current VT through and they confirmed it was satin gold paint without me giving them the paint code. This made it a 50th anniversary Calais.

Pretty much any commodore from VN onwards have records kept by Holden.

All you need is the VIN number from under the screen, and if you're friendly with the guys in service or parts, they can thump it into the PC and spit out the car's details like the
