Can anyone tell me the weight of a 308 engine?
I'm interested in an engine stand that is for sale, but I need to know if it will support a V8 before going ahead with the sale.
The stand is rated at 550kg....is this strong enough for the 8?
Errr...g'day Dave....email still coming.....

Don't know 308 weight, but I am about 99% sure it will be less than 550kg. I think about 300kg would pull up a 308, even with all accessories.

I had been looking in to the weights myself lately to compare to BBC. I found varying weights but here is what I have come accross.

308 dry weight no fluids 225kg
308 no gearbox. accessories??? 240kg
Hope this can help you out if it is required
