i have just sotted some hotwire style wheels for sale at a local shop and the owner is unsure of what they are off. i have a set on my sandman with 215 tyres, and these have 245 tyres. should there be any markings on the rims denoting size and offset etc, and also what would be the max tyre width i can put on a 7 inch rim ? thanks, ian.

I have 245 on my 7 inch rims on the back of the van but I find the rear floats a bit around corners, I will be changing mine back to 215`s shortly.I would think 225 is the maximum suitable for a 7 inch rim to sit correctly on the road.

Ask a tyre shop or check out a tyre manufacturer's website as there are legal tyre width/aspect ratio to rim width ratios these days.
Generally, the lower the aspect ratio, the narrower the tyre can be for a given rim width.
I have 235/60 tyres on 7
