G'day guys and girls,
I just found your site and was wondering if some one could help me out i have a HZ panel van with a very shot Muncie gear box in it, I am wanting to put a Turbo 400 behind the old girl now! It is a 308 engine! i gather i will have to get a different cross member but will i have to get the tail shaft shortend??? any will the bolt pattern need to be drilled? Any help would be great cheers or hints! PS you guys have a great site and it no lives in my favorites.

Good news, you tailshaft is the same, and I think the crossmember is too, bad news is you need a turbo pattern block, I don't think it would be easy to drill it. I went the other way, I was looking for a Muncie but a Toploader came up instead.

as 74hjls said uhave a trimatic pattern soo u can either put a trimatic or a aussie 4 speed behind it u could try getting your block redriled but that would probally cost u more then just getting a turbo block and could end up verry messy cus u would have

Hi Guys.

Why are you guys so sure it's a Tri-Matic pattern block. This is a modified car, it has a Muncie, so who says the block is not a Chev/Turbo pattern block now. The gearbox is not original, the block could be non-original also. The Muncie could

yes dr terry is right we jumped the gun a bit on this one we assumed it was a tri-matic block sorry

What are you going to do with the Muncie?
I have an early Muncie in my SL/R and the parts may come in handy.
