Aligning Clucth Cover Plate on Flywheel- EJ

Manual talks about aligning the 'X" on the clucth cover plate to the 'X' mark on the flywheel. I can find an X on the flywheel but not the cover plate? The clutch is new - is there an 'X" on it. Does it matter as the cover plate seems spherical and balanced so does it matter where it is bolted back onto flywheel thanks for your advice Jeff
