Hi guys:
I've got a very nice 186 S series HT Kingswood, but some bugger porked around with the fuel system The carb was replaced with some mess of half of a stock 186 carb bolted onto the 161 body. The manifold is a stock 186 manifold, but I believe that since the S series carbie was a double-draught, the manifold would have been a different one.
At present, I've had the carb replaced with a standard 186 reco job, but I think I'd like to get a bit more performance out of it without going over the top.
I was thinking about getting extractors fitted, and replacing the exhaust system, perhaps with a 2" setup. What do you reckon? Or would a 2 1/4" system be worth the performance gain? Or more?
I'm not into sound over performance, or to spend ridiculous amounts of money - I want it to be efficient, and get a bit more torque and economy out of it. I'm also considering getting the a double-draught carb refitted (there goes the economy!)

Hi Trix,
If you want torque, stay at 2" or under for your exhaust. Any bigger and you gain top end power but at the expense of torque and daily drivability.
Try to get hold of a set of original X2/186S/GTR/GTR-XU1 headers (twin exhaust manifolds) as
