is a crow cam 6556 a good cam for my 308 (stock)and can any one give my any info on geting cheep horse power out of my 308

I reckon the easiest horsepower available is as follows. Not necessarily "cheap" especially if you are replacing good bits, but at rebuild time maybe a good idea.

VN heads (I bought a pair on monday for $200).
Redline manifold to suit ($575).
VP-VT c

Do you have a spec sheet on that cam.It is not listed on the crow site under a v8 holden

ok found it in my file now.As Byron said there is no such thing as cheap horse power.I you use a cam with over 500" valve lift you will need extra heavy duty valve springs and you should use heavy duty collets and retainers. If you use a cam under 500" va

hey hqss what are the specs on a TQ20 and can you run standard springs with this cam or do you need the LT1 items?

It is a cam that has around .448 valve lift. 208 deg duration at .050" cam lift.I said around because the specs change between diferant brands. You can use std springs, but I still use LT1 springs on it and check your collets if not replace them

The last few 308's I have built have used Dynotec 214-228 cam hardend push rods and LT1 springs with Flat tops, but have fitted the listed valve train components to mates VK 308 (manual)in car with dish tops and found the performance increase quite impres
