G'day, I was woundering if anyone would be able to tell me how to tell difference is between standard 202 conrods and starfire rods, also the same with standard crankshaft and 1 from a blue or black motor?

Hi Chris, blue/black cranks are the same - red cranks were steel, unbalanced and lighter, they revved quicker but are weaker and not as smooth.
As for the rods, I've heard too many conflicting opinions so won't go there however blue/black rods are quite

Chris, as Mr Void says blue and black 202 cranks are the same except the black ones have a locating dowel. These cranks are fully counterweighted. Red 202 cranks are not fully counterweighted and lighter, but they are not forged (steel), they are cast.

Thanks Mr Void and Byron, I've got an old 202 that had a fair bit of work done to it in the past and want to recycle the rods and crank, I noticed that the conrod caps look visualy different from the ones that are in my stanard 202, is this a common thing

The bolts are the key, but the rods do look different.
