I have beeen told a 308 block with an engine number of HT could be a std LX V8 engine or an A9X block can any one confirm this.

Torana 308s used the HT prefix except the L34 which was HZ.

The street A9X used the stock 308 so therefore a HT block could have been used in an A9X however the casting date on the block will confirm if it was made around the same time as the A9Xs. No

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

Thanks for that. You comfirmed what I had been told.I bought it from the tenders as just an engine 15 years ago.It had big valve heads, roller rockers,40" chevy flat top pistons. The block and rods had been debured and the block had been decked 120" and i

When the A9X was used for racing the L34 engines were carried over into the new cars but some teams used the new stock 308 blocks that had some of the extra features of the L34 block incorporated into them, like the extra webs around the rear main bearing
