i bought a can of rocket red and sprayed a small are of my manifond. It looks almost identical to chevy orange. Are they similar or very much different? And what is the best matching brand to buy?

Rocket red is a darker, more blood red, than chev orange, but not as blood red as the EH to HR.
Not sure who makes a good rocket red these days.

Mate you're not on your own......I had my 308 rebuilt by local shop last year and asked that it be painted Rocket Red when completed. Upon pick-up it was bright orange but when I brought this to the attention of the bloke he showed me the receipt and the

vht make a engine paint called chevy orange/rocket red that might be your answer as i heard the engines when they came from the usa were chevy orange then gmh painted them rocket red maybe the two colours make the original colouryour after
