A question I'm hoping someone can shed some light on or point me in the right direction. (I have a HG ute)

With a HG front end, what is required to get a set of HQ discs on there?
And with a Ford nine inch, once the diff has been shortened, to put HQ drums on the back, I've been told that you only need to redrill the HQ stud pattern over the Ford one?

I'd be grateful for some pointers of what I would need to do/get to convert a 9 inch to use in the HG with HQ drums and what needs to happen to install HQ discs on the front.

Cheers

Simply bolt HQ discs and calipers on. You can leave your stubs, or fit complete HQ-WB stubs and discs with HG steering arms, but swap side for side. Not 100% sure if you can use the HG disc master cylinder (I think it is fine), but a HQ-HZ one will bolt o

Thanks Byron, that has cleared a few things up. It seems simple doesn't it! So once I score some drums and discs and diff it should be easier.

I suppose keeping the HG stubs on the front would be the easiest option? The old girl will certainly pull u

If it's 4 wheel drums you'll have to change stubs, so just use HQ-WB disc brake stubs. If you can fit HZ Girlock calipers they are probably the best, but otherwise HQ or HJ PBR units are OK. You'll also need a HK-HG brake booster and just buy a new HQ all

Or, if you don't mind being "impure", it is possible to fit Mazda RX7 disks onto the ford 9", and run the Ford stud pattern (running either multi-fit or different pattern front and rear).
