Just wondering what is so special about a Saginaw box that they demand such a high price. Are they stronger than the aussie 4 speed?

Not really. A Muncie is the strong box. A Saginaw is valuable because they belong in HK-HG Monaros.

I know a guy who has 3 or 4 Saginaws in his shed. He has a heap of interesting stuff tucked away but these days he makes his living from modifying late model Skylines, Supras, etc so the stuff just gets left to gather dust.

I've tried to convince him

Have a look and see if they've got bellhousings, shifters and crossmembers. If they have you've got me interested.

I know a guy selling a complete saginaw box, bell housing, shifter, not sure about cross member. What would be a fair price? as i know this guy would probably want pretty good coin for it

I'll ask him exactly what he's got Byron and let you know.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any crossmembers or ****ers though but I'll check. I'll also ask what the Saginaws came from.

Imported ones have a boss on the extension housing to mount the shifter, like an aussie 4spd but on the side. Aussie ones has a 3speed Saginaw extension housing as the shifter was mounted off the crossmember, again like a aussie 3 speed (but without the f
