whats agood replacement cam for a 253 to give it a bit more torque and do you have to reset the timeing after replacing the cam? cheers and thanks

I use a cam 1 over std in a std build up.A cam with .280" cam lift at .050" and 208 deg duration at .050".You will have to take the dissy out to fit the cam so you will have to re-time it.

Only duration figures are quoted at ,050",not lift. What would .280"@ .050" be?? . 330" perhaps!
Whats a "1 over std" cam??

Sorry to long a day that day. 50" is for degreeing the cam in. 208 deg duration at .050".Cam lift is 280", duration is 281 deg at SAE j604d (006" valve lift).But when graphing cams I was told to use 50" because not all manufactures use the same points for
