Im looking to get a one tonner and im wondering what would cost less to run a v8 on gas or dual fuel or a 202 on just petrol? and what would be better all round?

Probably a smaller red 6 like a 173 would be the most economical. If you are handy with tools a VN-VP V6 or V8 conversion would also be economical. A 308 on dual fuel ain't that economical. If it's setup for straight gas you'd get much better economy.

A 253 is said to be more economical than a 202, dont know how.
Fuel economy depends on the right foot pressure on the go pedal.
Having the engine tuned up and a clean air filter can help as well.

James is 100% correct. All things equal (correct tune, driving style etc) it comes down to what you want to do with it. A 1-tonner with a standard 202 with HEI ignition and a 5speed driving a 3.36 diff will be pretty good on fuel. A 253 will be OK too. Ab |

Is there anything included in the v6 conversion kits that you can't make yourself with a welder and technical knowledge? I was thinking of puttin a V6 in a gemini.
