can anyone help me i have been sorting through some parts i have for my ht .which some parts i have two of but noticed that they have the same part numbers but some have a number 1 or a 2 at the end or start of the part number what does this mean can anyone help please

I think it may be the moulding number, when parts a are made in any industry some machines can make multiple parts at the same time ie. say your plastic intrusion machine makes lense covers and the die makes 4 at the same time which after the operator sep

"cavity number" is the common term for what cloudy is explaining there.
Very common in the car industry, and as cloudy mentioned, especially in small aluminium die castings like thermostat housings, rocker arms, oil pump bodies etc.
