It's not rubbish. It was done. Replacement bodies were available back then from the factory. It was also illegal back then to rebirth a shell, people who got caught were penalised, whatever the penalty was back then.

Actually in the early days it was possible to order a 54H rolling shell off Ford if you wrote off
your GT. I'm not up on the full story in regards to compliance etc.

In regards to getting away with it in the early days. Welllllll, GTs weren't worth

Paul351XB who are you trying to defend? The three owners of the "FAKE" PHASE 3's? I dont agree with selling the plates either.

yeah you better the only place you have probably seen a 54h shell is in your dreams,when was the last time you owned an xw xy gt?you probably wouldnt know a 54h shell if you tripped over 1 at the wreckers and i doubt you have even seen 1 in real life.you

I don't pretend to know a 54H shell from an iced vovo dude. Just saying what I've read and been told by GT people over the years. As for coupes, they never had a 54H shell. I also never claimed the cars were
rebodied GTs by Ford. People were able to

A 54H shell is different in the radiator support area, as well as the underside of the engine bay around the chassis and other places. There are also differences in hole positions inside the engine bay etc. Yes I have seen many of these, generally from
