Has anybody given much thought to the damage that all these idiots are doing to car enthusiests sport/hobby. The way the media/general public/government is veiwing all this, it will sooner or later be banned to have modified cars or high performance cars. The media is having a field day, filling there news with illegal street racing(often called drag racing by them, which really makes my blood boil), and the amount of teenage accidents/deaths. The government is jumping on the bandwagon, wanting to be politicly correct and bringing in new laws, larger fines etc all the time. They are making bundles of revenue and also being seen to be doing the right thing. There are more and more legal venues and events to go to, but this minority of idiots are gonna kill HP cars for everyone. Half on them aren't even in HP cars, just rice burners and s**tboxs etc. Add some oil on the road to get them smoking and it gets toted by the media etc as illegal drag racing in HP cars. As car enthusists, if we aren't responsible, our sport/hobby will end up being wiped out for everyone. If you have a hot car, you'll be looked at like a leper by the general public, plus have to run the gauntlet of police etc. I'm this day and age of political correctness, greenies and enviroment, fuel economy, emmisions, oil shortages, fuel costs etc, it wouldn't take too much from the government to knock factory HP cars on the head. It was done before in the 70s, it can easily happen again. And if it does, I'm sure you'll never see another factory HP car released.

Yes I know my brothers high peformance V8 Monaro with his 106kW (installed) 253 is a menace to society, so I putter around in my low performance 154kW V6 VT Calais. Thinking about getting a low performance 195kW V6 Calais, but be buggeered if I will own a

Yeh,Warren. The politicians are a joke with their kneejerk reactions, but it's something we have to worry about because of a minority of halfwits. What will it take before they really jerk off and make High Performance cars like the guns laws. That wou

Hi all, Yes I agree with all the comments made so far. I bought a wb ute to restore with my lad before he gets his licence. Now these pollies are telling us we will have to run a six in it. Our original intention was mild 253 or a v6 conversion, with ulti

Was reading a large article with pictures on a similar note in the Toowoomba paper. About some people selling up their house and moving because tired of the cars racing past there house. Cops have set up radars and speeds up to 150Ks in a 60 zone. Plus t

Our road recently got another set of lights about 4 houses up from us. Currently I am spending a few hours a day out in the driveway doing work on my car and I swear on one saturday morning I saw 10 races in less than 2 hours, that's roughly 12 minutes be

I really feel the same way. I live on a suburban 'B' road & any drop of rain brings out the dickheads, in $500 Vn's etc, thinking they're "good" drivers. We all know "good" drivers are the ones who can drive to the conditions, not because of them, & get t

I'm glad to see others share my thoughts on this.
The biggest question is what can be done, before we lose our freedom to have HiPo cars, because of these idiots?
Do we start taking number plates and dobbing them in? Have a club of responsible car

Another incedent in Mondays Twba paper. Front page headlines with picture of Falcon wagon wrapped around a power pole. Apparently it had been dodging in and out the parked cars along the side of the street and lost it. Lucky it only hit a power pole and
