Hi I am trying to find out what original motor was in car I have a 73 xa coupe engine code L trans code B ax code S paint K ( wild plum I believe ) trim W ( white ) any help identifying codes would be appreciated thanks

250 hi comp motor with a 4 speed. Paint is wild plum and trim is white. Sounds like a nice car. :)

B code is floor shift auto. L is four speed manual. engine code L high comp 250. M is 250 2v. in XA falcon. Y 302. K 351 2v. T 351 4v. my dear boy.

Hi Rosenberger, by engine code L do you mean 4v as in 4 venturii's or 4v large port heads?
I have a friend with an 5/75 XB GT sedan.
Engine code T, trans code L.
Can u tell if it's large port heads and Top Loader 4 speed?

"L" as in 4 speed manual trans code. "L" engine code is a 250 6 cyl xa xb. large port heads have 4 raised stamped on top in side front of head. if it was a 351 4v "HO" engine code would be "H" top loader is std with 351.
