i know it says that is what they are for but i just wanted to know if anyone has used them or have any other ways i could go to be able to fit later model wheels

You can buy "later model" wheels to suit HQ's but generally they have to be a special order. Also look out for Chev mags as they are the same stud pattern as HQ's.
The other problem with Commodore wheels on HQ's (besides the stud pattern) is the offset
