Hi
Have put a new distributor on my ej motor but need help geting the timing right? The flywheel changed position when the distributor was off
She backfired when I tried to start it?
Any advice appreciated to someone new to this game
How do I get the timing right?

Hi Jeff,
First, try turning the dizzy 180 degrees or re-arrange you plug leads so the rotor is pointing to the no.6 terminal on the cap, but connect that lead to no.1 plug, then follow the firing order around the cap (1,5,3,6,2,4).

It is unlikely you have put the flywheel in the wrong position because they usually only go one way. I think from memory yours has a dowel pin to locate it. If not then one bolt hole could be slightly out so they will only line up one way. I h
