was perusing ebay and came across this monaro http://cgi.ebay.com.au/H...244QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
check out the body plate, to my mind this plate is from a v8 kingswood not a monaro as the base trans for a GTS/4 is an m20 and should be left blank or is it a mistake as the trim seems right? hope some one can clear it up for me cheers Leroy |

You are part right. It is a V8 Kingswood, but that is what all HQ GTS 4 doors are. Every one of them was a Kingswood with an option making it a GTS - XV4 for V8 GTS, XW8 for 350 GTS. Just like a HQ Sandman is an XU3 or XX7 optioned Belmont ute or van (or |

recheck your notes john, GTS 4dr/2dr had unique trim codes must be w,x,y or z with comb 30,32,34,35,36,38,39 Trim is correct, other parts may have been changed over the years and the white top may have been added later or may have been originally a vyni

Hi Cloudy.
I did check. In general terms of a GTS/4 being w,x,y or z with comb 30,32,34,35,36,38,39 that is the rough guideline. Now, please check Ben/Warrens book page 31 & page 34.
Sunburst metallic ONLY came in 3 trims codes Black-30 doeskin-38

In general, the plate doesnt make sense if Ben's notes are right. Its possible this was a one off, therefore not easily noted down by Ben. The plate looks genuine as does the booklet. Nor can I see the blackouts that well. Cheap anyway.

It was possible toorder "not recomended" combinations. They turn up all the time. I have seen at least 20 non available combos over the years. The best one was a HG in burnish bronze metallic with black trim and black and orange houndstooth. Brown with or
