hi everyone, me and my husband are currently doing up an lj torana and we need some help........if anyone knows of someone in the gosford nsw area that knows how to set up tripple su's who will come to our house to do it please let us know asap....we have rang numerous mobile mechanics and they dont want to touch it....so if anyone can help us out please leave a message........thankyou katrina

when you say setup... do you mean tune?!
if thats the case, there is a VERY easy way to tune multiple carbies! (coming from a bike background where they use 4 carbs)
get yourself a vacuum gauge set... (ask me what i mean if you dont know what it is)

There was even a cunning device around a few (20ish) years ago for tuning multiple carbs. (I used it on a Wolseley 1300 which had the twin SU set up). It consisted of a clear hose with a plastic ball in it, and a perforated plastic cone on each end (w Edited by user Wednesday, 2 May 2007 2:43:57 PM(UTC)

sorry if i sound dumb lol.....tripple su's are a new thing to us....my husband sorta has an idea but doesnt want to stuff em up......the su's are on the car but theres no fuel hoses or vacuum hoses connected we still have to get them...thats why we wanted

Katrina,
Try to find someone in your area who tunes/works on old pommy cars (Jags, Wolseleys, Mini's, etc) as they are likely to be familiar with SU carbs.

I am not surprised mechanics don't want to touch triple SUs on a Holden. They are easy enough when they are original equipment but there is a lot of work involved in setting them up on a different engine if you want to get the best out of them

thanks brian i have rang and ordered the manual for my carbs. it will be arriving in time for us to work on them this weekend. cheers
